About the Job

Cafe & Bar Assistant - London Workspace

Salary: £28,808

Diversity

We’re an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to building a diverse workforce and fostering an inclusive environment, where everyone can thrive and be their authentic selves at work. We recognise that the climate crisis intersects with social and inclusion issues, and we’re particularly eager to receive applications from individuals who bring diverse perspectives, including people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, parents, carers, and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. We also value different experiences and encourage applicants whose backgrounds may not exactly match the criteria in the job description to apply.

About the role

We’re seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Cafe & Bar Assistant to join our busy London Workspaces team. This is a hands-on, all round hospitality role, with an initial focus on assisting  in the day to day running of our cafe and bar, playing a key part in ensuring guests and visitors receive the highest standard of service in a welcoming environment. While opportunities to support events will come later, we’re currently looking for someone who is confident in a cafe and bar environment and keen to grow their skills in a dynamic, fast paced setting. If you already have experience supporting events, that’s a bonus and may allow you to get involved in that side of the role sooner.

Our London workspace currently spans 40,000 square metres, hosting an average of 300 members and welcoming around 350 visitors each week. As well as a café/bar, we offer a mix of fixed and hot desking options, private offices, access to 13 meeting rooms, and three event spaces - hosting groups up to 220 people.

Your key responsibilities

  • Café/bar operations: Assist in the preparation and service of food (e.g. sandwiches & salads), beverages (e.g. coffee, alcohol during evening shifts) and cafe/bar items (e.g. soup, cake, pastries). Handle till transactions, maintain stock levels, and ensure a clean and inviting atmosphere.
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient service to all guests, addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Compliance and Safety: Follow health and safety guidelines, food hygiene standards, and ensure all areas meet cleanliness requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the whole Workspaces team to ensure smooth operations and a positive, exceptional guest experience.
  • Events: Help set up and break down event spaces, including arranging furniture and audio-visual equipment. Assist with the delivery and cleanup of food, beverages, and refreshments.
