Job Summary:
The Capital Equipment Procurement Manager's main function will be to coordinate the renewables equipment’s procurement processes in line with global procurement strategy in place and support and coordinate contract negotiations for Wind turbines, PV Modules, Inverters, Racking system, etc. The primary goal is to secure a competitive advantage for the company through strategic capital equipment procurement. This position is based in Houston, Texas and will be on a hybrid work schedule, working three days in the office and two days from home.
The position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Responsibilities:
Create, implement, and coordinate competitive bid processes and support negotiation of Solar and Wind Equipment contracts, responsible for detailed Total Cost of Ownership analysis and coordinate the award recommendations to the Head of WTG Procurement, Head of PV Equipment Procurement and/or Head of Capital Equipment procurement.
Create, implement, and coordinate request for information processes to improve Repsol’s knowledge about Solar PV and Wind markets
Striving to achieve both LCOE reduction and the best conditions available in the market through competitive and transparent procurement processes, ensuring Repsol Procurement Policy is properly followed.
Accountability for negotiating supply chain agreements, in connection with the Head of Solar and Head of Wind Procurement, as well as for maintaining communications and mutual understanding with the Equipment suppliers.
Provide guidance in understanding of local Equipment markets and technologies and participate in negotiation of supply contracts and/or support on other decisions regarding relationships with Equipment suppliers in support of projects being developed in Repsol.
·Play a pivotal role and involving as required other Repsol areas such as: Legal, Operations, M&A, Finance, Solar resource assessment, Technical, etc. under the strategies defined by Head of Capital Equipment Procurement.
Establish and coordinate relationships with Equipment OEMs, inside Procurement Department.
Assist Investment/M&A, Estimation, and Origination departments for potential project acquisitions including but not limited to Equipment market trends, estimation, commercial terms review, requests for information and project’s deal-making with Solar Equipment providers.
Support Business Operations and Development providing information on Equipment, permitting, etc.
Administer all Equipment and O&M agreements - Contract management role for Solar Equipment: monitors fabrication timeline, quality inspections, transportation, contractual requirements fulfillment
Support field and factory inspections, criteria for acceptance tests, manufacturing quality inspections.
Engagement, when requested, with OEMs to understand latest technical details on new products and updates to existing products, ensuring the proper communication of Suppliers Local representatives with the entire Capital Equipment Procurement team
Responsible for qualification process for OEMs and technologies
Supplier evaluation process to monitor each supplier’s performance
Ensure proper communication and coordination in relation with project schedules inside procurement team, allowing the procurement strategy to be adapted to the projects needs.
Implement the global procurement strategy for Capital Equipment and to be responsible any procurement policy approved in Repsol is properly applied.
Legally authorized to work in the USA for any employer and without sponsorship.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
5 plus years of progressively responsible technical, engineering, construction management, or heavy industry procurement experience.
Experience with Wind turbines, Solar Inverters, trackers and PV solar modules is preferred.
Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task
Strong interest in environmental issues and renewable energy
Ability and willingness to travel as needed
Proven skills in procurement, negotiation, basic accounting, and contract analysis
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to distill, synthesize and draw conclusions from large data sources.
Proficient knowledge of the full suite of Microsoft Office software; high proficiency in Excel required
Strong business acumen and demonstrated project management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus
Ability to work productively with limited supervision
