Compensation: A base salary range of $100,000-$125,000 gross per year, depending on candidate experience.

This Role:
BioLite is looking for a passionate Embedded Systems Engineer to guide innovation in our next-generation power electronics products. You will work with a cross-functional product development team—including mechanical, firmware, and electrical engineers—to develop new products that push beyond today’s features and specifications.
You will lead important aspects of embedded design, applying technical expertise to develop high-quality, reliable solutions. You will navigate gray spaces and undefined challenges, ensuring our products deliver an exceptional customer experience.
You Will:
Architect and manage the development of firmware for MCUs and SoCs used as the controllers in our systems
Collaborate with internal and external developers using modern version control tools and methods
Write control systems algorithms for applications such as power conversion, max power-point tracking, fault condition protection, charge controllers, new and existing communication protocols, and display drivers
Be capable in design development, analysis, verification, and troubleshooting, ensuring the reliability and performance of embedded systems across our products
Work closely with hardware engineering in developing and defining the specifications for future products, including recommendations on new technologies and design best practices
Deliver products within scope, budget, and quality requirements by collaborating with project managers
Conduct and participate in hardware and software reviews
Document design to facilitate interaction with other developers, manufacturing partners, QA, and product documentation authors
You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; OR 5+ years of directly relevant experience in embedded systems
Proficiency in microcontrollers, low-level firmware (C/C++), and board-level hardware interaction
Proficiency in JavaScript and/or Python
Experience with electrical schematics and circuit design (digital & analog)
Experience with MCU peripherals (PWM, ADC, DAC, Timers, LCD Drivers, Button Interfaces)
Working knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN)
Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies)
Proficiency in debugging tools, board bring-up, and real-time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS)
Experience with power management, self-test, and fault handling
Experience with ARM architecture
Familiarity with software development best practices, version control (Git/GitHub), and Agile collaboration
Experience with CI/CD practices and tools
Experience with consumer electronics, batteries, power conversion, and/or IoT technologies (Bluetooth, cloud, mobile)
