POSITION SUMMARY

Air Products’ Manufacturing facility at Tanjung Langsat, Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia is one of company’s Centers for the manufacture of cryogenic Air Separation Units (ASU) and associated equipment.

The role of the EHS Controller is to lead the Environmental, Health and Safety functions within the manufacturing environment.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

To provide the necessary support to the managers and employees at Tanjung Langsat to enable the values of the company and the goals of the manufacturing organization to be achieved in Environmental, Health and Safety matters. To ensure that statutory requirements are understood and complied with.

Duties will require:

Control of the immediate EHS budget.
To prevent the deterioration in health of all employees due to work related injuries or exposure to hazardous substances.
To provide the support necessary to create and implement training for all employees that is identified and associated with EHS.
Controlling the effects that the work carried out has on the environment.
Preparing documents for the Loss Control Manual and ensure the contents comply with the company standards as laid down in the Global EHS manual and legislation that is specific to manufacturing at Tanjung Langsat. Implement the requirements of the procedures and carry out an assessment programme.
Recording monthly the details of all reported incidents which occurred to or were associated with any employees whilst carrying out their duties. Carry out periodic reviews of all incidents and accidents to ascertain any trends and prepare proposals for preventing re-occurrence.
Identifying specific training needs associated with the EHS function, prepare the necessary documentation, and monitor the implementation.
Prepare, implement, and monitor a fiscal action plan for EHS which incorporates the generic requirements of the Company and the specific requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Min.5 years of EHS experience in the manufacturing plant, preferably O&G, heavy machinery producer or automobile industry.
An engineering qualification.
Greenbook holder.
Currently staying at Johor Bahru or willing to re-locate.
High level of competence using a PC, especially spreadsheets and databases.
English language is essential.
