Are you passionate about nature, data, and technology? Do you want to gain real-world experience in ecology, biodiversity, and data science?

This 6-month full-time internship is an exciting entry point into the world of nature-tech, where you’ll work with real datasets, develop critical technical skills, and contribute to meaningful projects that impact biodiversity at scale. Join our Global Delivery & Operations team to get hands-on experience with data processing, validation, spatial analysis, and operational workflows, supporting high-impact projects at the intersection of tech and nature.

Please note that candidates must have right to work in the UK and be located 1-2 hours from GMT. Sponsorship is not provided.

What You’ll Do:

  • Get hands-on experience supporting global biodiversity action
  • Work with ecological and geospatial datasets within established data pipelines executing data ingestion, processing, validation, and quality checks
  • Identify, investigate and report bugs in data processing
  • Assist with admin and organisational tasks to keep data pipelines running smoothly

What You’ll Learn:

  • How the private sector is tracking, quantifying and reporting biodiversity
  • How real-world biodiversity data is collected, processed, and analysed
  • How to work a wide range of digital ecological data types
  • How to manipulate, visualise, and analyse datasets using Python and SQL
  • How ecological data interfaces with ML models and how cloud based data pipelines operate
  • How project management works in a fast-paced tech startup

What We’re Looking For:

  • Background in ecology or biodiversity (MSc preferred) OR 1-2 years’ experience in data science or delivery operations, preferably at an early-stage tech startup
  • Foundational Python skills and strong data science skills (data manipulation and analysis)
  • Experience using SQL
  • Experience with cloud-based systems (Azure, AWS, etc.), and Git/Github
  • Familiarity with R is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working with GIS and spatial data is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail—especially when handling data
  • Interest in working in a fast-moving, mission-driven startup
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves for some of the less glamorous but essential tasks
  • Candidates must have right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not provided

Why Join Us?
