Overview

As a Senior Recruiter, you will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse and qualified talent pool.  You will manage the full recruitment cycle and fulfill successful hires while ensuring a positive candidate experience.

Essential Duties

  • Screen applications, pre-screen candidates, and advance selected candidates.  Accurately update the applicant tracking system.  Maintain consistent communication with candidates, and answer inquiries promptly.  Provide subject matter expert recommendations for enhancements in applicant tracking systems and tools.  
  • Work with hiring managers & HR Business partners to identify and draft detailed and accurate hiring plans, criteria, and expectations.  Adjust job descriptions to align with managers’ needs and requirements, as necessary, while ensuring job listings are up to date, easily accessible, and accurate on all recruitment platforms.
  • Recommend interview strategies and work with the hiring manager to prepare interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.  Ensure proper hiring practices are followed while attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment process.  Perform regular audits to ensure diverse and equitable hiring practices.
  • Confer with the hiring manager and other HR staff during the offer process.  Advocate for the candidate in salary, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Develop and maintain yearly recruiting strategy and goals for building strong candidate pipelines for future hire.  Work cross-functionally with the marketing team to develop campaigns and materials for existing and future recruitment efforts.
  • Identify effective outreach avenues and keep current on innovative recruitment practices.  Attend and participate in fairs, recruiting sessions, career chats, & other outreach events.
  • Onboard and train new recruiters and create training materials.  Perform other duties of a similar nature or level, as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of increasingly responsible recruitment experience 
  • 5 years of experience using an applicant tracking system
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools  

An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties is also accepted.

 

Knowledge Requirements

  • Employment laws, regulations, and compliance issues related to recruitment.
  • Full-cycle recruitment process, including best practices for outreach, screening, fair candidate assessments, negotiations, closing, and candidate relationship management.
  • Applicant tracking platforms and data collection methods.
  • Techniques and tools to reduce unconscious bias and uphold diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Procedures for handling privileged or confidential documents.
  • Customer service.

Skill Requirements

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • HR Professional certification, such as SHRM CP/SCP or HRCI PHR/SPHR.
  • Experience using iCIMS applicant tracking system.
  • Experience using digital recruitment platforms, such as LinkedIn, Brazen, indeed, etc.
  • Experience working in the public sector or transit recruitment.

Working Conditions

 

Hybrid telework may be available. Availability is at management discretion and may not be available for this position based on the nature of the work. 70% to 80% of your work is performed in an office environment and requires the use of office equipment and technology. 20% to 30% of your work will be outside the office at community outreach and recruitment events. This will require you to move between different building locations in varying weather conditions. You may also be required to lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.
