Job Description

X-energy is seeking professionals to join our Corporate Development team in the role of Senior Associate, Strategy. This position is responsible for executing strategic initiatives focused on supply chain development and resilience, industrial policy, and manufacturing competitiveness. This role will analyze complex global supply chains, develop risk mitigation strategies, and advise the business on high-impact investment decisions. This role will also serve as a key negotiator with supply chain partners on behalf of X-energy and its customers for new and innovative commercial agreements.


 

Job Tasks/Responsibilities:

Strategic Supply Chain Analysis & Industrial Policy Development

  • Develop data-driven strategies to assess supply chain risks and vulnerabilities across X-energy’s emerging supply chain.
  • Map supply chains, identifying potential bottlenecks, dependencies, and geopolitical risks.
  • Model global supply and demand scenarios to inform funding decisions, industrial investment strategies, and policy interventions.
  • Lead original analysis on the positioning of strategic competitors and potential domestic business models for supply chain resilience.
  • Model supply chain capacity to inform X-energy’s future sales assumptions.
  • Work with X-energy’s customers and suppliers to drive down costs through innovative contracting structures.

Investment & Commercial Diligence

  • Conduct financial and commercial assessments of potential supply chain investments, including evaluating project economics, cost positioning, and scalability.
  • Lead commercial viability reviews of manufacturing and supply chain projects, engaging directly with CEOs and executives to evaluate risk and feasibility.
  • Inform funding decisions and due diligence for projects ranging from $10M to $1B+, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Policy Advisory

  • Brief senior government officials, policymakers, and corporate executives on key supply chain issues, risks, and strategic opportunities.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, industry leaders, and investors to align with key supply chain resilience strategies and subsidies.
  • Lead development of policy white papers, strategy reports, and industrial recommendations to influence management and the board of directors.

Operational & Risk Mitigation Strategy

  • Design and implement supply chain risk-screening frameworks for high-value manufacturing and industrial projects.
  • Identify and mitigate single points of failure in critical supply chains, supporting national and corporate security objectives.
  • Develop new supply chain evaluation frameworks to align with best practices in both private-sector and public-sector decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Economics, Engineering, Public Policy, Business, or a related field.
  • Typically, ten years of work experience. Deep understanding of energy and/or industrial supply chains and underlying trends in lieu of ten years of work experience.
  • Strong financial and commercial analysis capabilities, including experience evaluating large-scale investment projects.
  • Expertise in supply chain mapping, risk mitigation, and economic modeling.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience briefing senior executives.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into strategic insights.

Location: 530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD
Work Site Expectations:  5 days a week in office

Travel Expectations: up to 10% as needed
Hours: Standard office schedule are 8:00am-5:00pm ET, Mon-Fri

Compensation

As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.).  Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them.  Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions.  Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives. 

A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:

$126,500.00 to $195,000.00
