Job Description
Hours of work are 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
As Technical Operations Co-Ordinator you will be responsible for the
day-to-day operations of the laboratory ensuring samples are processed accurately, promptly and efficiently for required microbiological testing while maintaining high standards of compliance with Health and Safety, Quality System and Customer requirements. To provide excellent customer service through accurate and timely testing of samples. To proactively assist management and Section Leaders with technical and operational development of the department to ensure both Eurofins business objectives and Customer requirements are consistently delivered.
Departments of Responsibility - Sample Reception, Main Lab, Pathogen lab, Media ,stores.
Main responsibilities include
- Ensure Compliance to the 17025 standard at all times by adhering to the in house quality procedures provided.
- Proactively co-ordinate operations to meet customer鈥檚 requirements by effective planning and day-to-day management of workflow and testing across departments .
- Work to prioritise customer samples and ensure there is a good level of understanding of customer requirements.
- Assist with adjustment of lab schedules as required.
- Develop, monitor and improve lab KPIs on productivity and efficiency to demonstrate effective management of laboratory.
- Liaise with Laboratory and Technical Manager鈥檚 on upcoming project and new client work to ensure successful implementation in the laboratory.
- Report production, technical and quality issues to the relevant manager in a timely manner.
- Identify and assist in investigating instances of non-conforming work within each department.
- Possess good working knowledge of relevant documents within the Quality System including test, general methods, and client specific standards or specifications (where relevant)- ensure compliance with these documents across departments of responsibility
- Exercise a sound commercial and financial awareness to help reduce and control costs within each department
- To identify and implement improvements.
- Proactively assist with and propose innovative solutions to support the ongoing operational development of each department.
- Assist quality department in external and internal audits including closing out findings raised.
- Provide training and guidance to staff. Develop and participate in training programmes, undergo further training as required and participate in schemes to ensure on-going competence and development of skills.
- Ensuring that excellent standards of housekeeping and hygiene are always maintained.
- Ensure laboratory is operated in a safe manner in accordance with Eurofins H&S system requirements.
- As required carry out duties included in Technician Job Descriptions and be able to deputise in other areas when needed.
