What you will do: 

As the Senior Manager of the Procurement Technology and Operations Team, you are accountable for optimizing the company’s procurement technologies and processes to support improvements in efficiency, compliance and data quality.  Partnering with Finance and IT, this role is responsible for creation and execution of strategies to leverage new and existing technology platforms and tools that allow internal stakeholders to secure their procurement needs (goods and services) in a timely and efficient manner. The role will also work in partnership with the Strategic Sourcing arm of the Procurement and Supply Chain team, ensuring technology enabled delivery of procurement programs and strategic sourcing activities, in line with companywide strategic growth objectives. 

 

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Attract and retain a team of employees responsible for procurement technology and operations. Proactively cultivate a culture that is aligned with the company’s core values and foster a supportive, collaborative, and results-oriented environment. 
  • Coach, train and develop Procurement Operations Buyer(s) and any other direct reports in their roles, supporting Sourcing and Supply Chain, Finance and other stakeholders in their buying requirements; ensuring Electra’s buying practices are meeting compliance, following procedure and in line with the company’s strategic objectives 
  • Identify and establish key performance indicators to track and analyze day-to-day performance efficiency and optimization. 
  • Partner with key internal functions such as Finance and IT to deliver system enabled Procurement and Supply Chain strategy development and execution. 
  • Drive continuous improvement in procure-to-pay (P2P) processes via administration of all procurement systems 
  • Manage testing and implementation of new and existing P2P systems functionality to ensure it integrates seamlessly with other modules utilized by both Procurement and other internal functions 
  • Support market assessment and sourcing of alternative and incremental systems and tools where required 
  • Partner with the Strategic Sourcing side of the Procurement and Supply Chain team to design and embed content in procurement systems and tools that promote compliant and efficient buying activity, such as catalogs, guided buying tools and buying channels 
  • Partner with the Strategic Sourcing team to drive supplier and spend rationalization, P2P compliance and support continuity of projects and daily operations through transactional efficiency of the buying operations. 
  • Development and execution of procurement systems training, support, and communication, promoting awareness of procurement programs, policies and procedures across the organization. 
  • Support development of critical tools and templates in Procurement and Supply Chain, such as RFx and contract templates, and supplier performance and relationship management tools and templates 
  • Support development and publication of procurement reporting, for both internal and external consumption, as well as executive level reporting providing data driven insights into Electra’s overall procurement performance 
  • Control supplier lifecycle management and supplier master data  
  • Analyze procurement systems data to assist in identification of opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk reduction 
  • Assist in the design and creation of internal procurement SOPs and policies that ensure compliance with financial, legal, and ethical requirements  
  • Collaborate with project management, engineering, finance, legal, quality and operations teams to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and procurement activities 
  • Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor 

 

 

What we need you to bring to the team (Requirements):    

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering or related or equivalent work experience  

  • 12+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain roles, preferably in an industrial manufacturing or operations setting 
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience  
  • Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems, with experience in administration of these systems 
  • Direct experience with selecting and implementing procurement and ERP systems 
  • Demonstrated success in negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, exhibit a sense of urgency, and maintain equilibrium in a fast-moving and changing startup environment 
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making 
  • Ability to work on issues where the analysis of situations or data requires conceptual thinking and in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives 
  • Demonstrated ability to establish operational objectives, policies, procedures and work plans and delegate assignments 
  • Ability to drive the strategy and success of larger projects which contribute to multiple areas of the organization 
  • Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions, lead and advise team on complex matters 
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with the ability manage department budgets while driving cost efficiencies 

Compensation:   

The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $150,000-$165,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
