The Opportunity
InCharge Energy is seeking a performance-oriented Electrician Foreman to support customer service and electrical construction needs at our Los Angeles Sales and Service Office (LASSO). Service work and electrical construction projects in existing facilities are the core activities of our LASSO office. We are growing a large list of lighting and electrical service customers while adding Electric Vehicle Service Equipment (EVSE) installation and maintenance services to our capabilities. The Electrician Foreman will be an important part of our LASSO Team and report to LASSO Operations Management and the General Manager at our Bellflower, CA office. Key aspects of the work include troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electrical equipment and electrical construction projects for EVSE and other electrical systems.
What You’ll Do
- Repair maintain, troubleshoot, and service electrical equipment, including panels, branch circuitry, wiring devices and lighting fixtures and controls using technical skills and basic electrical tools and test equipment
- Working foreperson of electrical construction projects which typically range from a few days to a month in duration
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation for repairs and installations
- When needed for service and construction jobs, provide an accurate job scope and material and labor estimate for use by our staff in preparing estimates, change orders, and proposals
- Drive a company-assigned vehicle to work sites located throughout Southern California
- Keep your company-assigned vehicle clean and organized and maintain adequate supplies of company-provided materials and equipment as needed to perform repairs and services
- Work individually, with a co-worker, on a crew, or as a crew leader as required by job
- Maintain a schedule which allows for flexible daily job start times (typically early morning) as well as occasional after hours shifts
- Participate in voluntary on-call emergency service call rotation, typically paid at overtime or double time per applicable law
- Coordinate with customer representatives and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
- Ensure that all services and projects are delivered on-time, within the scope, and within budget
- Represent the company at client locations with the highest standards of professional conduct
- Perform risk management to minimize work-related risks
- Comply with company-mandated online training and attend periodic company meetings and training as required to maintain proficiency and enhance skills
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Your Experience and Capabilities
- 10+ years of electrical service and construction work
- Demonstrated experience
- High School diploma or GED
- California Certified Journeyman Electrician
- EVITP certification (desired but not mandatory)
- Experience with government/prevailing wage projects
- Hands-on experience with electrical troubleshooting and repairs in commercial applications
- Hands-on electrical construction experience in commercial applications, including installation of switchgear, panelboards, and other electrical equipment
- Experience installing, replacing, and troubleshooting transformers
- Experience installing new or upgrading existing Utility service feeds
- Ability to construct projects using blueprints and specifications
- Enterprising, self-starter attitude
- Proven working experience in service operations
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Proficient with basic mobile phone, tablet, and computer-based applications
- Detail-oriented, resourceful, diligent, and able to operate independently with limited supervision (completing assigned work accurately and in a timely manner)
- Good driving record demonstrating the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to travel overnight (less than 20%)
- Participate in voluntary emergency after hours on-call rotation
Physical and Environmental Demands
- Include but not limited to the following: lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, sitting, standing, working from ladders, walking, working in extreme temperatures (cold/heat), confined quarters, excessive noise, and high voltage
