The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity Senior Developer (Data and Integrations) to come and join our team in South Melbourne.  You will play a key role in developing seamless integrations and analytics between across information systems including HR/Payroll, Finance, Project Controls, Digital Engineering and other functions.

You will be the subject matter expert in developing complex data solutions – processing data, building reporting, and integrating data sets between multiple information systems. These integrations are functionally complex. You will be a quick learner and be able to work directly with the business to understand the complexity of their domain and build solutions to accommodate their needs.

You will drive best practices and continuous improvement, optimising AWS Data Lake, SQL Server, .NET, and Python-based integrations to support business initiatives while ensuring scalable, future-proof solutions.

Key responsibilities:

• Custom Integrations: Create and maintain custom integrations using .NET and Python to facilitate seamless data flow between in-house and 3rd party systems.

• Reporting and analytics: Develop complex report and analytics based on individual data sources (in-house and 3rd party) or an internal data lake.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams understand business requirements, document them and develop solutions to accommodate those.

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, fostering innovation and best practices.

• SQL Server Management: Manage and optimize SQL Server databases to enhance performance and reliability.

• AWS Data Lake Infrastructure: Develop and maintain robust AWS data lake infrastructure to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. Assist the team in developing integration of new data sets into the data lake from in-house and 3rd party systems.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Proven experience in solution design and development, specifically with AWS data lake, SQL Server, .NET, and Python.

• Proven experience in reporting, analytics and integration with complex data sets in an enterprise environment.

• Strong understanding of cloud computing and AWS services.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (desirable)
