GEA is seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Manager within our site Wommelgem.

Responsibilities / Tasks

The Business Development Manager will oversee technical and commercial sales of GEA’s continuous technologies in the pharmaceutical sector, focusing on key accounts and a specific region. The role involves global travel for business development and collaboration with colleagues to deliver integrated GEA solutions.

 Your Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop business opportunities in designated regions by collaborating with regional and country teams, agents, and customers.

  • Negotiate commercial, financial, and legal contract terms with support from GEA stakeholders.

  • Stay updated on technological advancements within and beyond GEA.

  • Act as a GEA product specialist, gaining expertise in key market applications, process challenges, and trends.

  • Align business strategy with the Global Business Development Director, Pharma division, and local teams.

  • Respond to inquiries and issue proposals promptly to maximize order intake.

  • Gather and report market intelligence systematically.

  • Conduct on-site contract negotiations, ensuring all terms meet GEA’s requirements and are accurately recorded.

  • Manage and report business development activities, inquiries, and customer data in the Global CRM.

  • Prepare contract handover documents for the project team.

  • Support the Project Manager in customer meetings and throughout the project.

  • Maintain business development and project approval databases.

  • Keep administrative systems, customer files, and records updated.

  • Address post-sales inquiries and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Comply with GEA’s HSE policies and responsibilities.

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Background in business development and OSD processing.

  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM applications.

  • Fluent in English; German, Spanish, French, or other languages are a plus.

  • Proactive, committed, and driven to take the business to the next level.

  • Skilled at building and expanding internal and external networks.

  • A natural hunter and networker with a positive, non-hierarchical mindset.

  • Confident, influential, and courageous with a humble and collaborative approach.
