JOB OVERVIEW
A Project Contracts and Claims Manager is responsible to ensure that claims originated by Contractors are processed accurately, efficiently to protect SNN contractual rights and entitlements. The role involves reviewing and evaluating claims, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and communicating with clients and other stakeholders. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Experience with international EPC contract terms and conditions
Develop in depth knowledge of the contract provisions and contractual change management requirements including liabilities, notice periods, conflicting provisions, warranty terms, etc. Provide tutoring to Project Management and Contract Management Team on the same.
·Incollaboration with project management, ensure observance of contractual requirements, rights of and obligations of Contractors, and subcontractors to ensure scope and commercial requirements are met and to protect SNN contractual rights and entitlements.
Take an active role in developing the negotiation strategy, building business case to defend against Contractors, aligned with leadership, legal, procurement and project team. This shall include gathering historical data, schedule impacts, risk management and cost impacts.
Collect, prepare, analyze and manage relevant claim documents and evidence (including draft letters, settlement agreement, contract amendments, etc.) in accordance with contractual deadlines and requirements and in collaboration with legal.
Coordinate and ensure the flow down provisions for procurement and subcontracts as required.
Understand the project execution lifecycle
Able to interpret and utilize to SNN benefit relevant tools (critical path schedule, S-curves, cost forecasts, risk analysis, etc). Apply established delay analysis methodologies and perform schedule delay calculations and schedule quality reviews for major projects
Support and lead when required internal / external meetings, project reviews
Conduct face to face meetings and represent the project in discussions between supply chain and suppliers, project manager and clients
Provide support to legal team in dispute resolution proceedings.
Provide inputs to project risk and opportunity as the claim and change management strategy develops and changes on a project.
Able to work with tools and prepare reports
EDUCATION
General experience in the field of completed studies:
Bachelor's degree in a Legal, Engineering or Business field
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a results-driven professional who has the following:
10+ years relevant working experience, including experience in nuclear, oil and gas, power plant or EPC projects.
Comprehensive knowledge of contract management, terms, and conditions
Comprehensive knowledge of project management and project controls
Extensive knowledge in best practices and methods of Project claim analysis and forensic schedule delay analysis.
Experience in working with internationally staffed teams and international contractual partners
Experience in leading and influencing of multi-personnel teams
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to equilibrate priorities and organize work effectively to meet deadlines
Team-oriented personality
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Strategic thinking and creative problem solving
Strong personality with a willingness to represent the company
Ability to successfully work in team environment and independently as required
Ability to effectively work under pressure
Ability to analyze data but also think outside the box for creative issue resolution
Being proactive, self-motivated, and flexible
Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
