We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Operations Engineering position located in San Diego, CA. The GNC Operations Engineer will report directly to the GNC Operations Lead.
The GNC Operations Engineer will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Maintain vessel control software, configuration and commissioning tools, and simulators.
Configure DP software per specification of deliverable system.
Configure deliverable hardware per specification.
Integrate DP software on the deliverable system.
Test the deliverable system.
Commission new DP systems.
Troubleshoot DP issues on commissioned systems.
Support GNC Development team.
Documentation (requirements, design, test procedures, presentation materials)
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Strong programming skills.
Experience with Visual Studio.
Experience with Matlab or other scripting languages for data analysis
Highly motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.
Must be well organized and have the ability to multi-task and keep track of simultaneous on-going projects.
Strong communication and documentation skills
Must be able to pass physical fitness test.
Experience with Windows operating system is plus
Experience with PC hardware and peripheral is plus
Experience with algorithm development, including estimation and control theory.
Experience with object-oriented programming in Windows environment.
Experience with PLC and network interfaces
Ability and readiness to travel up to 60% of the time, including both domestic and international destinations.
Domestic and international travel required for purposes such as on-site commissioning, troubleshooting and testing, attending meetings, field service support, conferences, training, or as required for job related duties.

For applicants that reside in CA, the salary $ 75,000 - $ 85,000. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods. Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.
Travel Requirements: This position requires a 60% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international, including onshore and offshore locations. The role demands adaptability to varying travel demands, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location. Prospective candidates should be prepared to fulfill these travel obligations as an integral aspect of the position's responsibilities.
