About the role
Invaio is seeking to hire an innovative and highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join our Analytical Sciences team. The ideal candidate will join a dynamic team that plays a central role in collecting and interpreting analytical data in support of multiple R&D projects spanning Invaio’s pipeline of innovative crop health solutions.
What you'll do
- Execute analytical procedures to quantify protein and peptide actives in different samples (fermentation media, formulated samples, plant tissue).
- Conduct daily analytical testing using techniques like HPLC, LCMS, Western blot, BCA, and ELISA.
- Implement and optimize procedures to measure active ingredients, focusing on increasing throughput and reducing turnaround time.
- Participate in lab operations, follow SOPs, manage lab records, and maintain/troubleshoot instruments.
- Analyze data, prepare reports, and document results in electronic notebooks (e.g., Benchling).
- Interact with R&D team members to support project leads and stakeholders.
- Write protocols, SOPs, and manage documentation of lab procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to developing and validating new analytical methods.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in chemistry or analytical chemistry, with 2-4 years of industry experience preferred
- Technical knowledge in method development, validation, and data analysis for peptide/protein quantitation using HPLC, Triple LCMS, Orbitrap.
- Experience with HPLC, LCMS, ELISA, and other analytical methods for small molecules and biopolymers (peptides, proteins, nucleic acids, lipids).
- Proficiency in analytical tools (e.g., XCalibur, Open Lab, MassLynx).
- Ability to generate and interpret data for reports and presentations.
- Commitment to reproducible and rigorous workflows.
- Independent, creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate across disciplines.
- Adaptable to fast-paced, innovative environments.
- Experience with bioanalytical methods like ELISA (preferred but not required).
- Experience with Skyline, BioPharma, and Trace Finder is a plus.
