The Shipping Clerk is responsible for the preparation of documents and performing all clerical functions to meet or exceed customer delivery expectations. Some locations require this position to package and ship products in a manner that meets or exceeds customer's delivery expectations. Also responsible for checking to ensure orders are correctly completed.


You will make an impact in this role by:

  • Accurately identifying, handling and preparing production orders for shipment.
  • Understanding HYDAC Quality Policy and Quality Objectives as related to this position.
  • Posting goods, issuing deliveries, printing packing lists, creating bill of ladings and other paperwork associated with shipments.
  • Assuring product is packaged and labeled according to instructions/requirements.
  • Processing shipments using UPS, DHL, AIT, FEDEX and LTL, Hazmat, Hot shots, shipments, etc.
  • Responding to emails in a timely manner.
  • Clear communication skills written and verbal with internal and external departments, customers, services, etc.
  • Creating and maintaining (update) any new or existing work in a timely manner.
  • Observe safety rules, housekeeping requirements and other company policies and work-rules.
  • Operating mobile equipment including forklift and pallet jack.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements


Key skills and attributes include:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical procedures, government regulation, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to use a variety of material handling equipment.
  • Ability to understand and operate PC equipment running under Microsoft Windows Format.


To be considered for the Shipping Clerk role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 to 3 months of related experience/training and/or an equivalent combination of both.
  • HAZ-Mat Training.
  • Forklift Certification.
