We are seeking a skilled and driven Power Electronics Engineer to support the development of high-performance power converters for electric vehicle applications. This role involves end-to-end ownership of converter design from topology selection and component evaluation to prototyping, testing, and validation for high-volume production. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in power electronics, hands-on experience with AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters, and a collaborative mindset to work cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and mechanical teams.

 

The Role:

  • Analysis and design trade-off studies of power converter topologies for EV applications (on-board charger, DCDC).
  • Support the design and build hardware of power electronics converters for use in automotive applications
  • Support the product cycle – from specification to design, component selection, prototype, testing, validation, and high-volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, firmware engineers to design and validate power converters.

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of power electronics topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC)
  • Hands-on hardware experience in power converter (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC) design
  • Good understanding of power conversion topologies and control strategies, switching device characteristics and losses, gate driving circuit design, magnetics, capacitors etc.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment (Power Supply, Electronic Load, Oscilloscopes, Network analyzers, Signal Generators etc.)
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
 
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$113,800$156,530 USD
