Yuri Lux GmbH is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our ScienceTaxi Bioforge Team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design and implementation of our very first Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for the ground support software of the ScienceTaxi Bioforge platform, working closely under the guidance of experienced engineers.
As part of our team, you'll collaborate across disciplines to help bring project visions to life and meet key milestones. Throughout the internship, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional software development environment and learn how to thrive within an agile team.

YOUR TASKS:
The following tasks and responsibilities will be part of your role:
Design and develop the first Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of the ground support software for our next space system, the ScienceTaxi BioForge, in Java and C/C++.
Participate in laboratory and ground testing to validate the software
Documentation of the procedures and automation of repeated software tasks.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
You are student in final year of an engineering school/master's degree in computer science or software engineering
You have software coding experience in Java and/or C/C++.
You have a good understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network security.
Additional experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python) is a plus.
You have experience with collaborative software development tools in terms of IDEs (Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, ...) and git-based collaborative development workflow
You are proficient in English both verbal and written. Proficiency in German or French are considered a plus.

About the Company

yuri
yuri is a space biotech company that uses the microgravity environment of space to develop and manufacture superior biotech products. The team of 30+ space engineers and biologists has worked on 20+ payloads for the International Space Station in collaboration with organizations like NASA, ESA, GSK, Charité Berlin.
