About the Job

Lead advanced analysis to transform data into actionable insights, working closely with cross-functional teams to generate actionable recommendations that drive tactical and strategic decision-making across the organization to improve performance.  Work closely with the solar asset operations team and the external data service provider to proactively monitor and detect/diagnose underperforming solar systems.  Own the automated creation of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports that drive critical decision making for the organization.  Analyze and organize raw data and build data systems and pipelines.  Evaluate business needs, interpret trends, and conduct complex data analysis.  Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling, build algorithms, and prototypes.  Combine information from different sources and explore ways to enhance data quality.  Identify opportunities for data expansion and develop analytical tools and programs.  Utilize Data Modeling techniques to create Data Visualization Reports and Dashboards using Power BI, integrating them into web applications with Azure Cloud and Power BI Gateway configuration.  Lead end-to-end requirements gathering, development, testing, and deployment for data projects.  Work on Azure Cloud platforms to create ETL pipelines, optimizing data processing and storage.  Collaborate with business functions to ensure accurate, complete, and available data for analysis.  Extract, parse, and translate large datasets into meaningful reports.  Maintain data quality and completeness by working closely with data service providers.  Define, document, monitor, and track key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports to stakeholders, and escalate technical support issues to internal and external teams as needed.  Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis, contributing to the advancement of Business Intelligence and Analytical capabilities throughout the organization.  Perform other duties as assigned.

Required: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, Data Science, or a closely related technical field and progressive experience with:  5 years of experience in SQL development or Data Engineering; 3 years of experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques; 2 years of experience with SQL and Cloud Data Warehousing platforms such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Database; 1 year of experience in Python, SQL, and Microsoft BI tools including SQL, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI, and Excel; 1 year of experience writing Python programs, complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and working with SQL Server relational databases.  Hybrid in-office (820 Gessner Rd., Suite 500, Houston, TX 77024) with work-from-home permitted.
