Senior Engineer, Flight Modeling & Simulation (SJ2025VD)

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. What You’ll Do:
• Develop Flight Simulation Physics Models for eVTOL aircraft.
• Conduct vehicle-level trade studies.
• Update system electrical, thermal, and performance model fidelity based on lab and flight test data to support vehicle certification.
• Work with internal and external suppliers to integrate their systems with vehicle-level simulation.
• Conduct design and analysis activities to verify business and regulatory requirements will be met with high confidence.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 5 years of experience as eVTOL Modeling and Simulation Engineer or a related job title in which experience developing Matlab Simulink models of eVTOL aircraft, eVTOL control algorithms, eVTOL flight control hardware, and flight dynamics modeling and simulation was gained.
ALTERNATE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
ALTERNATE EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: 2 years of experience as eVTOL Modeling and Simulation Engineer or a related job in which experience developing Matlab Simulink models of eVTOL aircraft, eVTOL control algorithms, eVTOL flight control hardware, and flight dynamics modeling and simulation was gained.
