Senior Software Engineering Manager
What You Will Be Doing
The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing and driving the execution of the Driver Services [Cloud Development] team and providing broad technical and architectural leadership to the team. He or she would work closely with Product Management, Design, QA and other software engineering teams
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team building distributed, cloud-native services.
- Drive software architecture and development practices across multiple projects and services.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, QA, and cross-functional teams to define priorities and deliver high-impact features.
- Ensure that the architecture and design of solutions align with long-term business and technical goals.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and technically rigorous team culture.
- Review and contribute to software design documents to meet evolving product requirements.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance where needed and ensure best practices in coding, testing, and operations.
- Manage a blended team of full-time engineers and contractors, ensuring alignment on quality, timelines, and delivery standards.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in cloud software development.
- 3+ years managing and scaling software engineering teams with multiple deliverables.
- Proven success in building scalable, secure, and highly available systems.
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture and infrastructure (preferably AWS/GCP).
- Experience with technologies such as Java, Golang, PHP, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenSearch.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns and system architecture principles.
- A positive attitude toward AI adoption and a strong interest in exploring how AI can accelerate development and improve quality at scale within the software development lifecycle.
- Experience effectively managing contractors alongside internal engineering teams, including onboarding, performance tracking, and deliverable oversight.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
