About the Job

What we do

Cambrium's mission is to trigger the next wave of material innovation by harnessing biology’s molecular building blocks. We fundamentally believe that the ability to align economic and environmental incentives makes biology the most important manufacturing technology of the 21st century. Using our molecular design technology, we create novel material building blocks with previously inaccessible functionalities. Our molecules enable innovators to create products that are better for people, and the planet.

At Cambrium, we’ve successfully developed an innovative product for the polymers market, and are currently starting to scale our first Polymers partnership. But we’re just at the beginning. Our world-class research team is already working on new products for coatings, foams, adhesives, fiber, and other performance materials. We are now gearing up to bring these products to market and scale our operations.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and value diversity. We consider all applications equally regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or gender identity. We strongly encourage individuals from groups traditionally underrepresented in tech to apply, and we can help with immigration.

Please also apply if you don’t match the criteria exactly, but still feel like you would be a good fit. Minor mismatches can often discourage great candidates, especially those who belong to minorities, from applying. We believe that potential and grit beat experience - we want to get to know you beyond your CV.

Your role

As a Project Manager on our Polymers team, you'll drive the execution of our partnerships and R&D initiatives from concept to commercialization. Working directly with our Polymers Lead, you'll drive our external collaborations, set up and execute our product development processes, and scale our technology. We prize your technical expertise, strong project management skills, and your ability to build relationships and to continuously engage with our suppliers and other external partners.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project leader for the launch of the first application of our bio-based polymers, accountable for timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Oversee manufacturing process development with strategic partners
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and quality control processes in collaboration with R&D and Operations teams
  • Support the Polymers Lead in evaluating technical feasibility of new business opportunities
  • Support the development and management of new partnerships by coordinating internal teams and external suppliers to create and test proof-of-concepts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and external partners, ensuring effective communication and alignment on project goals

Your profile

  • Master's in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 3-5 years of industry experience in project or product management, preferably in polymers R&D or chemicals manufacturing
  • Track record of taking full ownership and driving technical projects to conclusion
  • Experience working directly with technical teams and external partners to deliver results, underpinned by strong technical understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and scale-up
  • Experience with quality management systems and regulatory requirements is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities evolve quickly
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Please submit your application in English.
  • Passionate about Cambrium's mission

What we offer

  • Employee Stock Options
  • Flexible working hours
  • Learning & Development Program for all our team members
  • Gym membership
  • Subsidized lunch + impassioned lunch discussions
  • 30 days of individual vacation + up to 5 all-company holidays between the 25th of Dec and 1st of Jan
  • Regular team events
  • Be part of our journey to a future of sustainable materials
