Responsibilities
Job Purpose
Provide commercial management and project control support for all EPC projects to ensure successful project delivery for the Pattern’s portfolio
Key Accountabilities
Managing budget and forecasts allocations
Deep understanding project performance and able to present and answer questions and justifications for projects movements and progress
Contribute to the development of the wider team by mentoring and teach core
project control principals
Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering; negotiate and
approve final accounts
Mange KPI's, earned value, scope control
Compile and able to present month end reports with a focus on movements
within the period, reserve management and overall project cost attestation
Manage actuals, commitments, trends and invoice attestation
Assist company leadership on corporate initiatives
Qualifications
Experience/Qualifications/Education Required
Minimum of (5-8) years related Construction Project Controls experience
Degree qualification or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Engineering or related field
Excellent analytical and cost control skills • Demonstrated experience in managing the financials of large capital projects
Preferable experience within the Renewable/Infrastructure/ Energy Sector
Able to guide and coach junior team member with a focus on technical project control competencies
Establish, maintain, and track detailed project budgets, including CAPEX, OPEX, and financing costs for large-scale renewable projects
Experience working on major capital projects with a familiarity on activities, stage gate process and management
Ability to lead multi-discipline reviews of project capital forecasts, accruals, and analysis of project trends throughout the project maturity
Complex understanding of capability/maturity assessments
Understanding fundamentals of project financing and associated deliverables
Ability to work within a dynamic multiple discipline working environment and support in the negotiation and development of EPC contracts and change management process
Identify financial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. Participate in risk review sessions and contingency planning.
Ability to consolidate and analyze financial data, preparing detailed cost and performance reports, and presenting key metrics such as budget variances, forecasts, contingency and earned value indicators
Strong understanding of KPI management and integration (Earned Value management)
Able to lead and guide best practice solutions in the development of controls & performance integrated processes and digital solutions
Good understanding of construction contract concepts, language, and commercial terms.
Working knowledge of schedule principals, techniques, practices and software’s, i.e. P6, Project, etc.
Proficient in ERP/project control systems (i.e. Oracle, Power Bi, D365, InEight)
Advanced user in Excel and the associated Microsoft suite
Additional Requirements
Strong communication skills and ability to liaise across multidisciplinary teams.
Detail-orientated and analytical focused
Able to compile month end reports with a focus on movements within the period, reserve management and overall project cost attestation.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic working environment
Exposure to basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts, and principles.
Technical Skills
Maintain Earned value management (EVM) and KPI reporting
Recognizes processes/project actions that may lead to project financial impacts
Knowledge of estimating, contract and procurement processes
Knowledge in ERP application (preferably Power Bi, D365, InEight and Oracle
Proficient in utilization of project control software (i.e. Excel)
The expected starting pay range for this role is $90,000 - $122,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, voluntary benefits, family care benefits, employee assistance program, paid time off and bonding leave, paid holidays, 401(k)/RRSP retirement savings plan with employer contribution, and employee referral bonuses.
