The opportunity
As an Electronics Technician, you will play a critical role in the maintenance, repair, assembly and commissioning of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The position is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable performance of unmanned aircraft systems by conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing full integration assembly, testing and commissioning of the aircraft’s various systems. The role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety in aviation operations.

What you’ll do
As the Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Complete Aircraft Assembly and commissioning
- Perform Aircraft Assembly and commissioning on unmanned aircraft systems, including airframes, electronic components, sensors, and payloads, controllers and embedded flight controller software.
- Conduct functional tests and operational checks following assembly or repair to verify proper system functionality and performance.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives when performing repairs and modifications.
- Maintenance and Inspections:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on unmanned aircraft systems, including pre-flight inspections, system checks, and post-flight servicing.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance procedures, such as battery checks, propulsion system inspections, and software updates, to ensure airworthiness and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Document maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and component replacements, in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
- Troubleshoot technical issues and malfunctions in unmanned aircraft systems, utilizing diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals.
- Identify and diagnose problems related to propulsion systems, avionics, navigation systems, communication links, and payload equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams to develop solutions and implement corrective actions for complex technical issues.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements governing the operation and maintenance of unmanned aircraft systems.
- Maintain awareness of airspace regulations, flight restrictions, and operational limitations for UAV operations in various environments.
- Participate in safety briefings, risk assessments, and incident investigations to mitigate safety hazards and ensure compliance with aviation regulations.
- Fleet Management, Training and Documentation:
- Provide training and guidance to UAV operators and maintenance personnel on proper procedures for aircraft maintenance, pre-flight checks, and emergency protocols.
- Manage the Air Systems Fleet by maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including maintenance logs, equipment history, and inventory management.
- Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory authorities, internal audits, and compliance reviews as required.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree, associate degree or technical certification or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- High Reliability Soldering training to IPC-J-STD-001
- Harness assembly training to IPC 620 standard (IPC-WHMA-A-620)
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and professionalism in all aspects of UAV operations and maintenance.
- Ability to travel within the U.S. and internationally including Canada, Australia, India and Europe.
Highly Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Experience with the design, manufacture and maintenance of UAS or robotic systems.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations, airworthiness standards, and maintenance procedures for UAVs.
- Proven experience in aircraft maintenance, preferably with experience working on unmanned aircraft systems.
- Experience with UAV systems, including airframes, propulsion systems, avionics, and payload equipment.
- Hold a current Part 107 pilot licence.
