AECOM is seeking a Roadway Design Manager for its Transportation Business Line to be based in the East Region. The East Region encompasses the Northeast (ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI), New York, Mid-Atlantic (PA, NJ, MD, VA, WV) and Southeast (NC, SC, TN, AL, GA, FL) sub-regions.The ideal candidate will act as a Roadway Design Lead for pursuits and projects using alternative delivery methods, such as Progressive Design-Build, Design-Build, Construction Manager /General Contractor (“CM/GC”), or methods with early contractor involvement. The individual will have overall responsibility for all roadway aspects of these projects and inter-discipline coordination of all technical issues with other discipline leads including Structural, Architectural, Environmental, Traffic, Public Involvement, etc. from initial design through technical support during the construction phase.The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>Coordinate all roadway engineering technical aspects of the project with other disciplines and in support of the Project/Design Manager.</li><li>Interface with contractor clients through progression of the design deliverables.</li><li>Ensure the roadway design is completed in accordance with the contract guidelines and design documents.</li><li>Establish roadway scope, work plan and work schedule in support of the Project/Design Manager.</li><li>Comply with company’s safety awareness program and policies.</li><li>Manage groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists towards development of civil design documents and contract deliverables with minimal guidance or supervision.</li><li>Assure conformance with contractual obligations by ensuring that design documents are reviewed and approved prior to release to the client.</li><li>Train, mentor and develop staff and support career growth opportunities for staff.</li><li>Support marketing coordination and proposal preparation. Participate in proposal interviews.</li><li>Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of deliverables. Lead responses to client’s comments on roadway design elements of the deliverables.</li><li>Anticipate potential budget and schedule impacts and initiates plans for alternative actions.</li><li>Incorporate innovation in design and delivery.</li></ul>
