We are looking for an Operations Asset Performance Manager to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Chicago.

As the Asset Performance Manager, you’ll lead the monitoring and analysis of key operational KPIs—such as production, availability, and downtime—across our renewable energy portfolio. You’ll be responsible for identifying performance trends, evaluating risks, and leading cross-functional efforts to implement effective corrective actions.
In addition, you’ll have a big focus on managing high-impact service agreements with equipment manufacturers and service providers, ensuring optimal contract performance and compliance. You’ll be a relevant liaison between Operations and external partners, including investors and the Finance team, providing performance reporting and strategic input.

This role reports to the Manager of Optimization and Control and collaborates closely with regional and site managers, Finance, and project development teams.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead performance analysis of renewable energy assets, tracking KPIs and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization

  • Drive operational strategy by recommending and following up on corrective actions to address underperformance

  • Prepare and deliver high-quality performance reports for both internal leadership and external stakeholders, including investors

  • Oversee major contracts with OEMs and service providers, including compliance, warranty claims, and performance penalties

  • Coordinate regularly with Finance and Business Development to support modeling, forecasting, and project transitions

  • Represent O&M in cross-functional meetings and initiatives related to new projects and portfolio growth

  • Lead meetings to align internal teams on operations, strategy, and contract execution

  • Support the development and refinement of O&M cost models and performance benchmarks

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Competencies

About You:

You're analytical, strategic, and passionate about continuous improvement. You enjoy turning complex data into actionable plans and can lead others toward solutions that drive measurable results. You're confident navigating contracts, coordinating across departments, and maintaining a big-picture view of performance, cost, and compliance. You thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and bring clear communication and strong decision-making to the table.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field

  • 6+ years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with exposure to operations or asset performance management

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus

  • Experience in performance analytics, technical reporting, and contract execution. Understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and asset lifecycle management

  • Willingness to travel at least 20% (domestic and international) and ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport

  • Base Salary:  $115k-$145k  (based on experience, education, and skillset)
