Job Description:Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Work with Hardware Engineers to design mixed analog and digital electronic circuits for embedded controllers, power converters and data acquisition systems.</li><li>Develop embedded firmware for real-time control of power electronics systems, including PWM generation, ADC sampling, protection handling, and fault management.</li><li>Model electrical systems such as power converters and design optimal digital controllers based on simulations and real test data.</li><li>Implement real-time digital control algorithms (current, voltage) in embedded firmware.</li><li>Integrate control software with hardware protection mechanisms such as overcurrent, overvoltage, and thermal protection.</li><li>Design FPGA circuits and program them in VHDL/Verilog for high-speed communications, signal processing, or interface logic.</li><li>Perform system validation using SIL, HIL, and real hardware testing, ensuring performance, stability, and reliability.</li><li>Collaborate with hardware, firmware, control, and system engineering teams to optimize designs and improve product quality and robustness.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, in the area of Power Electronics, Control Engineering, or equivalent.</li><li>Minimum 4 years of experience as an embedded software developer with solid knowledge of embedded systems architecture applied to power electronics systems.</li><li>Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, with experience in bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware for real-time control applications.</li><li>Experience developing firmware for digital control of power converters,  grid following and forming systems.</li><li>Familiarity with RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems).</li><li>Strong understanding of real-time constraints, deterministic execution, interrupt handling, and task scheduling for control loops.</li><li>Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) concepts applied to power electronics (filters, observers, transformations, control loops).</li><li>Good understanding of debugging and testing embedded systems, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL).</li><li>In-depth understanding of microcontrollers, DSPs, microprocessors, and hardware–software interaction in power electronics systems.</li><li>Knowledge of low-level hardware architecture, peripheral configuration (ADC, PWM, timers, DMA), software optimization, memory management, and real-time processing.</li><li>Experience with communication protocols commonly used in power electronics systems (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, Modbus, etc.).</li><li>Strong background in system modeling/simulation and analog/digital controller design (PI, PID, state-space, observers).</li><li>Ability to translate control algorithms from simulation environments (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) into efficient embedded code.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with complex hardware/software interfaces.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.</li><li>English – Advanced.</li></ul>At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants.
