CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Financial Support Analyst to work in Financial Planning Unit to work in Operation Chapter.    

 The positions will be based at CIMMYT’s headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City. Please note this is a temporary position (6 months).

 

Specific duties:

  • Provide financial support to Employee and Operation Chapters (Internal Units), and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Help implement improvement processes in financial day-to-day activities.
  • Enter payments requests in the system while ensuring accuracy of account codes, authorizations and completeness of supporting documentation.
  • Cost recovery application and prepare journals in accordance with the month end closing calendar.
  • To review and make the corresponding adjustments in the system each month.
  • Closing balances and focus on special projects and workshops.
  • In charge of getting the support documentation for Corporative Credit Cards.
  • In charge of reporting and monitoring credit cards assigned to Operation Chapters staff.
  • Monitoring expenses not official vs users and charges to Personal Accounts (Cellphone, Gasoline and Tolls).
  • Chargeback application for Personal services requested to CIMMYT services units.
  • Reporting of variance analysis in collaboration with Chargeback Analyst and cross-functional collaboration with other finance teams.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports in compliance with international and other standards and agreements.
  • Work closely with different areas through the organization to obtain the necessary information for financial analysis and correct reallocations application.
  • Support direct activities of Finance Program Manager.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field. The selected candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience in Finance, Administration or Accounting, expenses analysis and general accounting.
  • Ability of analyzing databases, CSV files, and excel worksheets, Power BI experience is a high point for candidates to consider.
  • Strongly developed analytical skills and the ability to identify financial trends.
  • Advance in excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently, to prioritize and to plan.
  • Proactive and flexible, able to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of attention to details.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, with good written / oral communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, the candidate should score a minimum of B2.
  • Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure and as a member of a diverse work team.
  • The candidate must exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to his responsibilities and deadlines.
  • The selected candidate must exhibit the following competencies  critical thinking, communication, client orientation and teamwork.
