Sustainable Design Analyst

This is an exciting opportunity to join AECOM’s B+P Sustainable Design Team. The team is growing to deliver on our commitment to tackle the climate emergency and assist in the design process of built environment projects from a sustainability perspective.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team based in Madrid and comprised of architects, engineers, interior designers and urban planners working on a range of international projects.

The Role

We are looking to hire a Sustainable Design Specialist to champion the integration of sustainable solutions across all projects, with a focus on environmental analysis.

Responsibilities include:

• Working with the design teams to integrate strategies focused on net zero carbon, circular materiality, health and wellbeing and positive social impact, with a passive design and low carbon approach.
• Assessing the environmental performance of buildings and masterplans through energy modelling, carbon footprinting, daylight studies, thermal comfort assessments and other relevant studies to provide design feedback and assess the compliance with different rating systems requirements (i.e. LEED, WELL, BREEAM, etc).
• Producing rigorous, data driven reports to explain and justify analysis results and recommendations, as well as project deliverables as required.
• Supporting the growth of junior members of the team in environmental analysis and results interpretation.
• Communicating complex technical concepts and solutions to clients and design teams in a clear straightforward way.
• Working in a multi-disciplinary manner, engaging with different disciplines in-house and externally.
• Managing own workload to meet project deadlines.
• Conducting research and training into existing and emerging sustainable policy, trends and technologies.
• Engaging with the wider industry and professional bodies.
• Contributing and assisting as required to the different projects.
