As well as for the delivery of the automation system for the high voltage scopes of work for our utility scale PV Solar, BESS, and Wind projects. This position works within multi-disciplinary teams to assist in the development of efficient and reliable collection, ,substation and transmission line designs. The position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Solid understanding of substation and transmission line project scopes of work and deliverables.</li><li>Capable of producing control building layouts, substation general arrangement, cable and conduit plans, line arrangement, grounding plan, sections, details, auxiliary AC/DC power distribution diagrams, bill of material, cable schedule, etc.</li><li>Acts as a key contributor to the development of substation physical application documents for air-insulated substations (AIS) and gas insulated substations (GIS), to define design scope, philosophies, methodologies, and criteria for medium and high-voltage substation projects.</li><li>Review of design basis memorandums, detailed engineering scopes, and then guide contractor discipline engineers/designers to align with Repsol engineering deliverables according to project requirements.</li><li>Provide electrical, high-voltage, collection system, and substation support to operating renewable projects.</li><li>Participate in the engineering, design, and construction review processes including review of the collection system, substation, and transmission line designs.</li><li>Oversee internal and external electrical discipline calculations, studies, and designs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements. For example, ampacity, reactive power compensation, loss analysis, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, TOV, TRV, insulation coordination, harmonic, etc.</li><li>Support new project commissioning, documentation support, and assist with project energization.</li><li>Review and continuously improve commissioning, maintenance, and standard operating procedures.</li><li>Review maintenance records and recommend corrective actions to ensure reliability and compliance with the applicable NERC standards.</li><li>With peers, develop structured feedback sessions for all lessons learned with the project team to include misoperations, root cause analysis, and safety-related events.</li><li>Review and update project documentation</li><li>Develop and implement site betterment projects including preparation of scope documents, exhibits, budgets, schedules, and requests for proposals.</li><li>Interact closely with internal teams to ensure that project needs and objectives are met.</li><li>Lead or participate in discipline specific project meetings and conference calls.</li></ul>Required Qualifications: <ul><li>Legally authorized to work in the USA for any employer, without the need for sponsorship today or in the future.  </li><li>Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.</li><li>7+ years of relevant technical experience.</li><li>Professional Engineering license in at least one state in the USA.</li><li>Expert knowledge of medium- and high-voltage substation electrical equipment including relay protection systems, collection systems, transmission designs, and operations.</li><li>Experience with large utility scale solar and wind projects preferred.</li><li>Experience with establishing HV field service preferred.</li><li>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project software suites, and SEL Equipment</li><li>Proficient in industry-standard software (ETAP, CYMCAP, WinIGS); additional knowledge of CDEGS, EMTP, PSS/E, PSCAD, and related tools is preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with the operation of capacitor banks, transformer load tap changers, circuit breakers, and motor/manually operated air disconnect switches.</li><li>Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products. </li><li>Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise.</li></ul>Repsol is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran
