The Role: Xylem looks to hire a site Manufacturer Controller for Applied Water business in Lubbock, TX. The Controller is responsible for leading the site in financial reporting and compliance aspects. Position is a key contributor to Applied Water success, this includes implementation and direction of financial controls, adherence to accounting policies and practices, leading audit process, early identification of cost variances and for recommendation and implementation of plans to reduce or eliminate waste as well as regular monitoring of the health of the company.
Essential Functions:
Direct the accounting functions including general accounting and cost accounting
Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities in strict adherence to close schedule
Contract reviews and ASC 606 revenue recognition compliance/testing
Work directly with Shared Services Record to Report team to ensure all journal entries are correctly recorded
Ensures integrity of all compliance, internal and external reporting and coordination with Xylem financial organizations and in line with US-GAAP and Local-GAAP and local legal requirements.
Drives Sarbanes-Oxley planning, coordination, site reviews and testing while working in conjunction with Xylem Internal Audit, internal auditors and external auditors
Assess current talent and determine staffing levels and strategic plans for talent development and succession planning
Develops and/or administers functional objectives, financial policies and procedures, and SOX compliance
Provides leadership and motivation by establishing clear objectives, communicating specific performance feedback, and giving timely and thorough performance reviews
Drive continuous improvement in terms of cost of finance as well as performance level. Meet yearly budget/forecast goals in quantitative measures
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA Accounting or Finance. MBA or relevant advanced degree highly preferred. CPA and/or CMA certifications would be a plus.
10+ years’ relevant financial experience, with 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience must also include a strong focus on financial planning, reporting and analysis in a manufacturing environment along with a demonstrated command of general and operational accounting, specifically Corporate, Legal and Regulatory requirements, cost accounting, project accounting (where appropriate) and day-to-day operational support.
Additional experience in managing Sarbanes Oxley Compliance and operations planning
Technical skills in Finance & knowledge in US-GAAP:
Cost accounting and financial analytics with ability to drive into details and “forensic accounting” as necessary
Must have strong communication, organizational and analytical skills with expert proficiency in MS Office
ERP Implementation experience and financial systems orientation is strongly preferred.

Some travel to each site is required
This role is viewed as a key pipeline role and the successful candidate must be looking for continued career progression

Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or working towards a CPA certification
