There is some manual labor but you are not just standing on a line or doing simple repetitive tasks. Each shift is different, with new problems to solve and wide-ranging duties to perform as part of a team. From your first day onwards, you will be learning and mastering key skills – to start on the path to becoming a skilled technician.Process Operator – the need to know<ul><li>You will help to ensure the safe operation of our process through a highly automated, state-of-the-art system.</li><li>We put a strong focus on safety – it is always front of mind.</li><li>Your role will involve climbing stairs and ladders and working in warm and cold temperatures.  </li><li>Manual labor is not the main part of the job, but you do need to lift and carry up to 55 lbs at times</li><li>Ability to obey all safety rules and identify and correct potential safety problems.</li><li>Ability to work both in a team environment and individually as required.</li><li>Proficient written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Proficient computer skills, Microsoft office tools and excel.</li><li>Follow SOP’s and/or PM task instruction sets.</li><li>Communicate with production prior to starting job and when job is completed.</li><li>Ability to clearly communicate this information to team members.</li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of basic processing equipment (pumps, control valves, tanks, heat exchangers (plate and frame / shell and tube), centrifuges, ion exchange, activated carbon beds, filtration equipment, evaporators, crystallizers, dryers, classification systems, packaging systems and process analytical devices (pressure, pH, temperature, conductivity, etc.)</li><li>Perform routine work permitting as scheduled.</li><li>Perform area lab analytical analysis (titrations, density measurements, process sampling as needed)</li><li>Troubleshoot lab equipment as issues present themselves.</li><li>Troubleshoot equipment/systems as required.</li><li>Identify and implement solutions to recurring equipment problems.</li><li>Communicate and complete detailed logs for shiftily items taking place.</li><li>Assist I&amp;E technicians and mechanics as needed / as asked.</li><li>Must be able to identify the need for, and request engineering/vendor assistance as required.</li><li>Communicate and work with other groups (process engineers, production technicians, quality control) as necessary to promote efficiency in problem solving and work scheduling.</li><li>Required to clean up after jobs are completed / perform housekeeping as required in the area.</li><li>Familiarize product, steam and airflows though out the area.</li><li>Perform Lock out Tag out and work permitting for all work being completed in area.</li><li>This is a 365/24/7 Operating Plant – requiring weekends and holidays.</li></ul>Shift Schedules: This job will require you to work one of the schedules below.<ul><li>B-Shift: 2 pm - 10 pm</li></ul>Skill blocks: the more you learn, the more you earn: At Primient we pay you to upskill through a system of learning and development called “skill blocks”.
