General Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Marketing and Communications Intern to support our team in crafting compelling written and visual content, assisting in executing social media strategies, and maintaining organized communication workflows. This paid internship is for a recent college graduate or college student with either experience or education focused in Marketing and Communications. The position is located at the company’s corporate headquarters in Watsonville, CA working with the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team. MarCom is responsible for all internal and external communications and marketing activities, that includes our social media, corporate website, intranet, and other digital channels.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Write and edit content for press releases, blog posts, newsletters, and internal communications.
Coordinate projects and track and obtain deliverables with employees across Granite.
Develop and deliver engaging content for social media, internal communications, and website using photography, videography, and text.
Assist with email communication design, intranet posts, and mobile app updates.
Help maintain editorial calendars and ensure timely delivery of content.
Support the development of marketing campaigns and promotional materials.
Organize digital assets and assist with internal documentation and reporting.
Willing to travel locally to active construction job sites in a personal vehicle.
Education
You are a recent graduate or a rising senior or currently majoring in communications, design, journalism, or marketing (or a related field) at an accredited 4-year college or university—or a recent graduate in the same.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
You are available to work 40 hours per week for 8–10 weeks.
You are legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
Familiarity with social media platforms and basic analytics tools.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Creative thinker with a collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn,
Experience with design and photo editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
Basic knowledge of SEO and content marketing principles.
Previous internship or project experience in marketing and/or communications.
Familiarity or experience working with Microsoft 365 Suite (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) and Windows devices.
Proficiency in multi-media formats (video, digital platforms, and print) and digital marketing channels (social media, email marketing, etc.).
Strong attention to detail is critical— must enjoy working collaboratively and accurately, both independently and part of a team.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Base Hourly Wage Range :
Hourly: $23.00 $25.00
Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
