Graduation Internship - BDD Test Automation

Your mission to graduation
We want to take our software to the next level. And that’s where you come in. Your mission? Build a kick-ass Behavior Driven Development (BDD) test automation framework that helps us push the limits of quality and reliability. This framework will drive system and integration tests for the heart of our battery systems — the embedded software. You’ll be the one laying the foundation for this framework, working with Python (using tools like Behave or pytest-bdd) and C++ (to create clever test daemons and simulate the badass hardware we build).

Mission objectives:

• Design and build a scalable, rock-solid BDD framework in Python

• Integrate test steps tightly with our embedded software — no fluff, no gaps

• Create C++ test daemons to simulate hardware components and interfaces

• Develop test scenarios that cover everything from comms protocols to fault handling to energy management

• Hook it all into our CI/CD pipelines so testing is fast and automatic

• Document the architecture, test strategy, and implementation so others can build on your work.

• You communicate clearly and thrive in a no-nonsense, technical team

• You have the ability to be in the office physically for 5 days a week — no working from home during your mission

We are Big Ass Battery; a fast-growing scale-up in the premier league of the energy transition. We build energy storage systems at the highest level: from battery cell to complete 10ft battery containers. Big Ass Battery is a Dutch company and we are located in Helmond.
