- Prepare and submit interconnection and permit application packages to utilities and AHJ’s.
- Establish and maintain points of contact and partnerships with utilities and AHJ’s.
- Field and respond to questions or revision requests from utilities and AHJ’s. Coordinate with Design and Construction teams to revise applications as needed.
- Pay all applicable interconnection and permitting fees. Coordinate payment with accounting and construction teams when necessary.
- Submit final inspections and/or project photos to utilities in order to request permission to operate.
- Prepare and submit 3rd Party PPA notifications to the SCC and utilities for registration.
- Contact utilities and AHJ’s with inquiries from teammates, and record responses/answers for future reference.
- Update and monitor the status of all interconnection and permit applications via the Interconnection & Permitting Google spreadsheet (new systems, project statuses, construction start dates, etc.) Follow up with utilities, AHJ’s, and teammates as needed.
- Send introductory emails to new customers outlining interconnection and permitting processes and requesting any information required for applications (power bills, property information, receipts, etc.).
- Coordinate with contractors/builders to complete interconnection and permit applications on behalf of new construction customers.
- Track service department projects that require interconnection applications and/or permits.
- Communicate interconnection and permit application statuses to customers, Sales, and Construction teams (approval, further information needed, denied, complete, etc.).
- Keep organized folders/records of applications and approval documentation from utilities and AHJ’s. Upload necessary documentation to the CRM (permits, permit numbers, approved plans, completed applications, PTO letters, etc.).
- Field and respond to customer inquiries regarding interconnection and permitting.
- Contact utilities and AHJ’s to understand processes and requirements in preparation for upcoming applications.
- Keep Utility Cheat Sheet up to date with current utility interconnection policies. Update team with relevant changes.
Requirements
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams, as well as Adobe Acrobat; ability to learn new software.
· Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills; ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
· Strong technical and analytical skills; adept at researching issues and proposing solutions; detail-oriented in all correspondence and deliverables.
· Relationship builder that displays a positive, “Can Do” attitude; communicates with peers, supervisor, and all other external individuals both effectively and respectfully.
· Clear understanding of, and ability to enthusiastically promote, safe workplace practices and procedures.
Salary Description
$24.00 to $26.00 per hour
