About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated Front-End Developer Intern to join our team for a 3-month paid internship. You’ll play a hands-on role in developing a core product in the Renewable Power industry, with a strong focus on building out our internal design system using React and Material UI.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain real-world experience in a collaborative and supportive environment, working alongside an experienced team in an agile workflow.
What you’ll be Doing:
Building user interfaces for a new product used in the renewable energy sector.
Helping to develop and maintain our internal design system for consistent UI/UX across the platform.
Working with React and Material UI components to create clean, responsive front-end code.
Contributing to data visualization features, helping users make sense of complex datasets.
Supporting and learning about unit, integration, and smoke testing, and contributing to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes to ensure quality and usability.
Gaining hands-on experience working with CI/CD pipelines within Azure DevOps to streamline development and deployment workflows.
Participating in agile workflows, code reviews, and product discussions with a cross-functional team.
Learning and growing with the support of experienced developers and product professionals.
What we’re looking for:
Familiarity with React and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
An eye for design and a willingness to work with design systems and component libraries like Material UI.
Interest or experience in data visualization tools or techniques (e.g. charts, dashboards).
A passion for clean code, quick decisions, continuous learning, and the renewable energy space.
Strong communication skills and a team-first, pragmatic attitude.

Our process:
Candidates will be asked to complete a React JS assessment online using Coderbyte
A shortlist of candidates will then be invited for a video interview using MS Teams
The finalist(s) will then be invited to the Low Carbon office in London for a face to face interview
