The Role:

Sensus, a Xylem brand, is seeking to hire a System Support Developer to join their Technical Services team to provide hardware and software product technical support to water, gas, & electric utilities in North America.  We are looking for an experienced, customer-first focused, Technical Services professional with direct Customer Support experience and Software Development skills    

    

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Perform tasks and activities to quickly and accurately resolve Customer Support Cases created by Utility users of Sensus product hardware and software

  • Perform phone and on-site support (as necessary) on Customer Utility systems

  • Execute Technical Services’ Salesforce Case Management Process to satisfy Service Level Agreements while meeting or exceeding Technical Services’ Performance and Customer Satisfaction metrics

  • Improve Technical Services efficiency by working with team members, identifying and documenting opportunities to automate portions of the Salesforce Case Management Process

  • Document discovered automation opportunities and implement in new and existing Technical Services Software Development platforms

  • Perform and document GUI and server-side Software Development and Maintenance tasks on Technical Services Tools

  • Perform and document Configuration tasks on Technical Services Linux Servers

  • Perform and document Database Design, and Configuration tasks on Technical Services Database Servers

  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer opportunities

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with emphasis on programming, logic, technical concepts and analysis

  • Experience in C or Java programming languages

  • Experience supporting Sensus FlexNet Base station products 

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in customer facing technical support of Sensus product hardware and software

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, ideally in a customer support environment


Additional Information: 

  • The position requires minimal, occasional travel of 10% or less

  • Possibility of working non-standard hours Monday through Friday and an opportunity to participate in a rotating on-call schedule
