Forward Deployed Engineer - Machine Learning (12 months initially), based in Barbados

What You’ll Be Working On

Forward Deployed Engineers at Amini take on responsibilities similar to those of a startup CTO. You’ll work in small, fast-moving teams and own the full lifecycle of high-stakes projects. In this role, you’ll be involved in:

• Designing system architecture in collaboration with fellow engineers

• Working with large and complex datasets across diverse domains

• Developing and deploying machine learning models and scalable ML pipelines

• Building custom web-based tools or applications to support customer solutions

• Engaging with executive stakeholders to translate needs into technical deliverables

• Shaping team-wide technical direction and strategy

What We’re Looking For

• Strong technical foundation, ideally in
  Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science

• Proven experience in
  solutions architecture, technical account management, or solutions engineering

• Proficiency in
  Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar languages

• Hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning models, building end-to-end ML workflows, and performing advanced data science and model evaluation tasks

• Excellent
  communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage
  multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines

• Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with a strong work ethic

• Empathy-driven approach with a genuine desire to understand and solve customer problems

• A highly analytical mindset and comfort working with
  data structures, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and storage systems

• Interest or experience in working with
  large-scale, real-world datasets

• Strong collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams in fast-evolving environments
