To maximize future revenue, we spend a lot of time modelling the value of flexibility in power markets around the world.We are looking for an analytical wizard who can collaborate cross-functionally, crunch numbers, become an internal expert on markets, and find scrappy ways to get to answers.<h3>What you will be doing</h3><ul> <li>Building models of wholesale and ancillary power markets in different countries to predict revenue</li> <li>Building and evaluating different strategies for cycling a battery or load-shifting an EV charger in different countries.</li> <li>Diving into the nitty gritty of power markets to understand how trading, compensation, penalties, and cash flow works.</li> <li>Jumping on the phone with grid operators around the world to validate hypotheses and make sense of data</li> </ul>This is an opportunity to gain unique domain expertise and build the quantitative case for first-of-a-kind projects across the world.<h3>What we think you need to be successful</h3><ul> <li>Strong analytical chops (Python, SQL, spreadsheets), and are highly quantitative</li> <li>Exceptional communication &amp; the ability to turn data into actionable commercial insights</li> <li>Comfort moving fast &amp; making decisions in an evolving environment</li> <li>Knowledge of electricity markets - experience across multiple geographies is a plus</li> </ul>BenefitsA meaningful slice of equity in Axle, alongside a competitive salary.The opportunity to directly shape the future of energy markets and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon world.Bi-annual retreats to strengthen team connection &amp; shared purpose.Hybrid working - We have a dog-friendly office around Old Street.
