This is how you will grow:
This role sits with the Powertrain Battery development and test space. As a Controls Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the development of build and test equipment and labs for in-house battery development. Additionally, you will coordinate these functions to support greater powertrain assembly through the manufacturing and design teams. Assisting in the production and scale of our battery and powertrain products with our manufacturing facilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our high-quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing and development process.
Manage interfacing of equipment with higher-level factory systems such as MES and SCADA
Track Overall Equipment Effectiveness and lead continuous improvement projects to improve metrics
Design Equipment for specific throughput capacity & product requirements
Collaborate with equipment suppliers in selection of controls components, design of electrical cabinets, design of machine-mounted controls hardware, power distribution, and cable management Create hardware, software, safety, and maintenance standards for industrial controls used in manufacturing applications such as conveyance, material handling, dispensing, fastening, joining, inspection
Coordinate and create multi-phase and development practices to support various product life cycles
Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering to ensure designs are optimized for their production capabilities.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to integrate external manufacturing processes seamlessly into an overall production strategy.
Analyze and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement, both in-house and with contract manufacturers.

Requirements
This is how you will take us forward:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field is preferred, a combination of years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree 6+ years of experience of automation experience with an emphasis on controls design and calibration
Detailed knowledge of Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC, HMI, IO, Drives hardware and software
3+ years of industrial robotics programming and application testing, Fanuc preferred
Proficiency in programming PLCs using Ladder Logic, Function Block, and Structured Text language
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP and IO Link
Ability to program in higher level computer languages Python, C#, SQL
Hands-on experience in executing discrete automation applications from concept through design, programming and commissioning
Working knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD and CATIA
Strong organization skills tracking schedule and open items, creating meeting agendas and minutes
