About the Job
What will you do as Full Stack Developer?
At Big Ass Battery, we don’t just build batteries – we create the beating heart of clean energy solutions. But what’s a heart without a brain? That’s where our cloud platform comes in. We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer with a passion for turning complex systems into seamless, smart, and user-friendly solutions.
Imagine this: you make a change to our cloud environment on Monday morning, and by the afternoon, our engineers, partners, and customers are already reaping the benefits. That’s the kind of direct impact you’ll have here. Our system is evolving rapidly – growing more complex and powerful every day – and we need someone who thrives on architecting big ideas while staying grounded in the details. You’ll play a key role in transitioning knowledge from external experts to our in-house team, ensuring that we own and shape the future of our cloud technology. As we shift from embedded battery solutions to smart, cloud-connected energy ecosystems, your fingerprints will be all over the next chapter of innovation.
No day is the same. One day you might be fixing bugs or polishing the UX of our web platform. The next, you’re adding a powerful new feature or ensuring our infrastructure scales smoothly for the future. You’ll be working closely with a highly engaged team of developers (mainly external) and collaborating with software engineers, designers, and stakeholders to bring big ass ideas to life. And who knows in the future you'll even grow the team. We believe in Agile principles – not as buzzwords, but as a way to keep energy flowing, deadlines realistic, and creativity alive. This role isn’t just about writing code – it’s about laying the foundations for the future of battery management. We want someone who can help us achieve new levels of stability and scalability, while also being a voice of communication and collaboration. You’ll learn, you’ll teach, and you’ll shape a product that’s making real waves in the energy world. So in a nutshell:
Fix bugs in our web application & cloud platform
Build new features in both environments
Improve the UX of our web application & cloud platform
Help achieve new levels of stability and ensure scalability for the growing cloud infrastructure
Communicate to various stakeholders (internally and externally) to keep involvement high
Contributing tools to the team that bring us to the next level
Help the team manage and meet expectations by guiding and coaching, be their rock!

About Big Ass Battery 🔋
We are Big Ass Battery; a fast-growing scale-up in the premier league of the energy transition. We build energy storage systems at the highest level: from battery cell to complete 10ft battery containers. Big Ass Battery is a Dutch company and we are located in Helmond. We didn't fit in our previous office anymore so that is why we traded up in november 2023 to our new facility of 15.000 m2 and a total surface of 41.775 m2! When you join our team, you not only contribute to the production of batteries, but you also contribute to the growth of a company with big ass ambitions. Our batteries are an important part of the solution to the current challenges we face in the energy transition. For example, you can place a Big Ass Battery at an event location or for charging electric cars. Or on a construction site where a sustainable company wants to use electric excavators and other power tools. Companies can even link a revenue model to the use of the Big Ass Battery. Agricultural companies, for example, use the Big Ass Battery for solar energy storage. In short, plenty of possibilities.
