You will develop and maintain control system documentation, including P&amp;IDs, control narratives, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and cause-and-effect matrices for a large-scale electrolyzer system. You will work onsite/ hybrid at our San Jose, CA office, or you will work remotely from Houston, TX. You will report to the Director of Software Engineering.</p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and maintain control system documentation, including P&amp;IDs, control narratives, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and cause-and-effect matrices for large-scale electrolyzer systems</li><li>Specify and design instrumentation systems, including preparation of datasheets, wiring schematics, and technical documentation to support procurement, installation, and commissioning</li><li>Collaborate on the design and implementation of PLC and SCADA-based control systems, including I/O definition, logic development, and integration with process equipment</li><li>Support the full safety lifecycle for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), including participation in PHA/LOPA reviews, SIL determination, and development of SIF documentation and testing procedures</li><li>Interface with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure instrumentation and controls meet functional requirements, safety standards, and compliance criteria</li><li>Provide field and commissioning support for instrumentation and controls, including startup troubleshooting, loop checks, and system validation</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline</li><li>8+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering for industrial applications such as oil &amp; gas, water treatment, or chemical processing</li><li>Proficient in developing and interpreting instrumentation documentation including P&amp;IDs, loop diagrams, I/O lists, control narratives, and cause-and-effect matrices</li><li>Experience implementing or supporting Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), including SIL calculations, SIF lifecycle documentation, and participation in PHA/LOPA processes</li><li>Familiarity with PLC and SCADA platforms and industrial control architectures, including I/O and communication protocols</li><li>Knowledge of process instrumentation technologies, valve and transmitter specifications, and experience interfacing with vendors for design and procurement</li></ul><p><strong>Compensation and Benefits | P4</strong></p><p>#LI- HYBRID</p><div><div><div>San Carlos Zone</div><div><span>$166,000</span><span>—</span><span>$195,000 USD</span></div></div><div><div>National Zone</div><div><span>$145,000</span><span>—</span><span>$165,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div><p>Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​</p><p>Base salary is just one part of Electric Hydrogen’s total rewards package.
