Design Manager, Airport High Priority Improvements Program

AECOM is seeking a Design Manager, Airport High Priority Improvements Program to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world. 

Major Responsibilities: 

• Leads and coordinates the implementation of multi-disciplinary design standards in close collaboration with the main contractor.

• Oversees pre-construction activities including design planning, all design phases, site development, permitting, and procurement support.

• Acts as the primary client interface across all project phases, providing expert guidance, technical advice, and subject matter expertise throughout design development.

• Manages design consultancy contracts to ensure compliance with technical specifications, schedule, and budget requirements.

• Facilitates design reviews and coordinates stakeholder input to ensure timely and effective resolution of feedback.

• Oversees reviews by external stakeholders, including airlines, regulatory agencies, and authorities having jurisdiction.

• Prepares and delivers executive-level reports on design progress, performance, key risks, and opportunities.

• Manages the client review and approval process across all design phases and ensures a seamless transition from development to construction.

• Provides technical support to delivery teams, ensuring alignment with facility requirements and design intent throughout construction.

• Conducts and coordinates quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with program scope and requirements.
