Build to simplify.We are looking for a hands-on System Engineer to own and evolve Exponent's energy stack. The role involves collaborating with OEM partners, mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration across e^pack, e^pump, and e^plug across the platforms. Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications for exponent energy stack.</li><li>Support the creation of system architecture</li><li>Support in system-level testing and verification activities, including functional, performance, and reliability testing.</li><li>Navigate and negotiate feature delivery tradeoffs against time</li><li>Interpret data of tests conducted using numerical analysis and take objective decisions to meet target features</li><li>Support system-level reviews with cross-platform architects (electrical &amp; mechanical)</li><li>Create technical documentation (schematics, integration workflows, and validation reports)</li><li>Identify system-level test cases and write procedures for major components like powertrain, battery system, charger system, etc.</li></ul>Requirements: <ul><li>2-7 years in embedded systems, electrical design, or firmware development for automotive/EVs</li><li>Strong understanding of CAN/LIN, PLC comm. protocols, power electronics, and control systems</li><li>Debugging understanding of hardware/electronic circuits, diagnostics on system integration</li><li>At least one depth project on any domain (mech+elec+hw/fw)</li><li>Past experience of working on integrated systems - Holistic view </li><li>Experience in system-level validation and fault analysis</li><li>A non-compromising attitude towards product excellence but flexible approach to have healthy cohesion of products and teams working together</li></ul>Good to have: <ul><li>Formula student/BAJA background</li><li>Matlab / any other modelling tool, any requirement flow down tool</li></ul>

We believe EVs have completed the 0 to 1 shift of driving better than conventional vehicles. However, for the industry to exponentially scale from 1 to 100, the underlying energy problem needs to be simplified.
