About the Job
AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to serve as a technical advisor on transportation projects for our New York Metro Transportation group in the Bloomfield, NJ office location.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, final working drawings and Geotechnical reports under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Collect and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Perform Geotechnical investigation collecting and describing soil/rock samples in the field.
Create soil profiles based on data collected during the subsurface investigation program.
Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems including but not limited to foundation, retaining wall and support of excavation design, slope stability and seepage analysis, etc.
Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
