About Redwood Materials

Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2019, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.

Technical Program Management Intern/Co-op

Redwood Materials is seeking a Technical Program Management intern or co-op to support our team for the Fall 2025 semester. These roles are at the center of our activities focused on creating a sustainable circular economy for lithium-ion batteries by transforming recycled materials into battery materials for new lithium-ion battery production.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the on-time delivery of projects while ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and aligned to the project’s goals.

  • Partner with TPMs to implement and drive project requirements, workflows and plans while managing timelines, resources, communications, quality, risks, uncovering roadblocks, defining critical paths, identifying resource constraints, and any other issues that arise.

  • Partner with the program sponsor, architects, tech leads and engineers, business leads and dependent system stakeholders to ensure milestones are met and project is a success.

  • Identify and document all project milestones and deliverables and keep project plans up to date at all times, including resource allocations, tracking hours, monitoring schedules, milestones, deliverables, updating percentage completion, etc.

  • Track and manage change requests to scope and obtain approval if necessary.

  • Support the creation of formal project communication plans, key project metrics and dashboards for project status communication.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a B.S. or advanced degree in an engineering or related discipline.

  • Prior internship or work experience with a leading technology company.

  • Having a scrappy, MacGyver approach to quick problem solving.

  • Self-motivated, hands-on mindset, with a willingness to contribute at all levels.

  • Being mission driven, having a passion for sustainability, and making the world a better place!

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.

  • Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly.

Working Conditions:

  • Split work environment between office and the production facility.

  • Work may involve extended periods of working in the production facility.

  • Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.

The location of the internship is either in the Reno or Carson City, Nevada area (exact location is based on team placement). Interns are responsible for making their own housing and transportation arrangements. Please note that due to the location of our campuses, public transit options are limited, and the use of a personal or rented vehicle is recommended.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
