Quality control Inspector

We are now looking for a&nbsp;Quality Control Inspector - Machine shop, Late Shift&nbsp;to join our team working for a better future.&nbsp;The position is permanent, and the preferred location is in Havant.&nbsp;What you will be doing &nbsp;The machine shop operates across 5 cells producing seal and bearings for the marine sector and various Navies around the globe.&nbsp;Work hours:14:30 – 22:30 Monday - Thursday12:30 – 20:00 Friday(30-minute break for lunch)&nbsp;Product inspection – Responsible for inspecting components at various stages through the production process including final inspection<ul><li>Raise non-conformances in accordance with the non-conformance process.</li><li>Performs extra duties or special projects when requested.</li><li>Ability to read &amp; interpret technical drawings and related documentation e.g., Purchase Orders, Concessions.</li><li>Able to effectively communicate with Quality Assurance department and/or management in unusual situations regarding Quality Control issues.</li><li>Responsible for inspecting as per current procedure and specification and releasing parts to stores, assembly and packaging areas.</li><li>Collate &amp; record traceability details to assist QA with MDR Quality Packs &amp; Class Visits.</li><li>Good knowledge of Problem-Solving techniques to support Root Cause analysis/investigations.</li></ul>&nbsp;Ability to be flexible is key for this position with a wide variety of duties to be carried out in a safe accurate manner working to our OTIF (On time delivery in full) target. Capable of carrying out tasks individually as well as working effectively as part of the Logistics TeamMaintain a save working environment &amp; high standard of housekeeping.&nbsp;As Quality Control Inspector - Machine shop, Late Shift, your work will focus on these responsibilities: &nbsp;<ul><li>Possess general knowledge of Quality System Regulations and International Standards.</li><li>Utilizing various inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, checks dimensions/processes on parts or raw material to ensure compliance to manufacturing drawings/blueprints/specifications.</li><li>Works closely with Quality Control Inspectors, Project Engineering, Quality Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure that all manufacturing and inspection activities are performed in compliance with process work documents.</li><li>Insures that in-process inspections are completed per engineering specifications during the production process.</li><li>Performs mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts using inspection hand tools.</li><li>Potentially perform CMM Programming and Inspection is possible (or previously trained in addition to experience)</li><li>Communicate with Supply Quality assurance Engineer on quality issues.</li><li>Attach correct labelling to outside of storage cartons/pallets. Store product in warehouse and do transactions to adjust inventory on the system.</li><li>Must be able to work from Engineering drawings for visual dimensional inspection of purchased or manufactured products utilizing measuring instruments.</li><li>Any other duties that may be required.</li><li>Communicate with all ops teams to ensure proactive actions are taken to meet OTIF.</li><li>Continuous improvement relating to process and procedures.</li><li>All duties carried out to be done in a safe manner following H&amp;S safety procedures.</li></ul>&nbsp;To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: &nbsp;<ul><li>Mechanical and electrical component inspection</li><li>Basic mechanical Inspection tools</li><li>Dimensional inspection hand tools</li><li>FDA</li><li>GMP</li><li>ISO 13485</li><li>Experience/background of working in a production/engineering environment is essential.</li><li>Understand Health &amp; Safety environment/procedures. </li><li>Mechanical/assembly aptitude.</li><li>Read and understand drawings is essential.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years mechanical inspection experience desirable.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.</li><li>Flexibility to work across Logistics Operations teams.</li><li>Ideally educated to college standard, mechanical apprenticeship or solid experience working in manufacturing industry.</li><li>Industry standard computer packages (Microsoft / MRP systems).</li><li>Good knowledge &amp; understanding of SAP</li></ul>&nbsp;Why you and us? &nbsp;We at Wärtsilä believe in empowerment, ownership and taking responsibility of our work.
