We are looking for an onsite Embedded System Security Engineer – Linux/C++ (m/f/d) for our automation & digitalization team at our location in Berlin Reinickendorf.


Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Secure Development: Implement and maintain secure coding standards and best practices using C# and C++

  • Linux Engineering: Develop and maintain software in Linux-based environments

  • Security Assessment: Conduct vulnerability testing and security evaluations on automation systems and software products

  • Design Integration: Collaborate with development teams to embed security into product architecture and design

  • Team Enablement: Provide training and guidance on secure coding and cybersecurity protocols

  • Incident Response: Monitor and respond to security incidents related to software and automation systems

  • Compliance: Work with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to security standards

  • Research: Stay current with emerging security trends, technologies, and threats

  • Cross-functional Support: Assist product management, sales, and service teams with product security information


Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in security engineering or secure software development

  • Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in C# and C++

  • Linux Knowledge: Solid experience working in Linux environments

  • Security Expertise: Proven skills in security assessment (IEC62443), vulnerability testing, and risk management

  • Certifications: CISSP, CEH, or equivalent certifications are highly preferred

  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with automation systems and industrial software is a plus

  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Languages: Fluent in English (C1/C2) and German (B2)
