THE HENRY CROWN FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

The Henry Crown Fellowship Program, established in 1997, is the flagship initiative of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. It seeks to develop the next generation of community-spirited leaders, providing them with the tools necessary to meet the challenges of business and civic leadership in the 21st century. The Fellowship is a unique mix of seminars designed to broaden the perspectives of the participants and hone their skills in values-based leadership. It honors the memory of Chicago industrialist Henry Crown (1896-1990), whose legendary career was marked by a lifelong commitment to honor, integrity, industry and philanthropy.


ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Program Coordinator works to support the alumni team alongside the Managing Director: Chief of Impact & Engagement, Senior Program Manager for Impact & Engagement, and the Executive Director. This role is expected to commit to increasing Fellowship impact and engagement with an unwavering focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This role reports directly to the Managing Director, Chief of Impact & Engagement. The salary range for this position is $56,000 - $59,000. In accordance with our Reimagining Work policy, the Program Coordinator should be willing to be in-person with colleagues a minimum of 40% of the time while having the flexibility to work remotely for the balance.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Alumni Events, Seminars, Fellow Engagement:

  • Assist with coordination of HCF year-round programming & events both in person and virtual to include creation of event registration forms, arranging event schedules, meals, hotel accommodations, ground transport, meeting space, AV requirements.

  • For virtual meetings, handle the logistics and mechanics for Zoom meetings and other online platforms.

  • Ensure that vendors, moderators and others receive payment/reimbursement immediately after the seminar/meeting.

  • Assist the Senior Program Manager with supporting alumni class reunions.

  • Other duties as required during an event.


Fellow Interconnectivity:

  • Write the monthly HCF Front Page newsletter. Provides monthly updates on newsletter stats. Creates event marketing emails as needed.

  • Coordinate social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram) by checking daily to find relevant content to share and repost.

  • Provide support in the creation of Program marketing materials and online resources.

  • Monitor AGLN Connect platform for Fellow discussions and connectivity, adding programs to the event calendar on the platform.


Leadership Impact Ventures:

  • Support Leadership ventures by updating venture/impact descriptions as needed, providing research and connections to Fellows, and updates the EA briefing document.


Fellow Impact Platforms:

  • Speakers Platform: Support the Senior Program Manager by updating the list of Fellows who manage regional events, developing a list of agents, and creating a database of Fellows by topics that they prefer to speak on.

  • Board of Director Placement Initiative: Assist Managing Director: Chief of Impact and Engagement by updating and maintaining Fellow Board database developing board slates and assisting with board training programs.


Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Update team calendar, opens team meetings with calendar/schedule. Reserves conference room for team meetings.

  • Maintain Program data, including updating Salesforce, CRM +, and other associated programs.

  • Update the HCF bi-annual contact directory.

  • Maintain financial records and receipts for Managing Director: Chief of Impact and Engagement and process credit card reports monthly through Concur.

  • Assist with editing the HCF annual report.

  • Assist with preparing materials for biannual Board of Overseers meetings.



WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO THRIVE

  • Bachelor’s degree and Minimum of 1 years prior experience

  • Alignment with the mission of the Aspen Institute and the Henry Crown Fellowship.

  • Excellent written communication skills.

  • Comfort with ambiguity, quickly adaptive environment.

  • Comfort with working in and learning new databases and platforms like Salesforce.

  • Self-motivated and reliable, with a high capacity for independent work, strong follow-through, and rigorous attention to detail.

  • Strong desire to work on the coordination and execution of meetings and events, project management, and programmatic support.

  • Detail-oriented, patient, analytical, and collaborative employee who excels at problem solving and design thinking.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, design software (InDesign is a plus).

  • Aptitude for using web-based tools, including social networking platforms, conferencing tools and other mediums.

  • Ability to handle multiple, often complex, tasks at one time.

  • Event organization, administrative experience, intellectual curiosity, and a sense of humor a plus!
