Under limited direction, perform complex assignments requiring diversified knowledge Software development and software engineering to cost effectively accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives. Proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve quality and increase customer satisfaction. How you’ll make an impact<ul><li>Design, develop, review, re-factor, and maintain Power System software with quality and performance in mind. Analyse and understand customer engineering, business and software requirements, propose effective and efficient solutions.</li><li>Collaborate on planning, development, and testing to meet “definition of done” criteria. Support software releases and assists onsite/support team with expert knowledge, problem analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of defects as required to bring issues to closure.</li><li>Identify and manage risks for schedule and quality with the team and ask for help when needed. Be inquisitive. Try new things. Fail fast when needed. Help others learn from mistakes. Be effective in reflection, retrospection, and constant incremental improvement.</li><li>Support and mentor junior developers in the team. Review and refactor their code. Demonstrated programming skills in high performance, high programming level languages such as C/FORTRAN/C++.</li><li>Strong knowledge and experience working with power system modelling and simulation, analysis and operation, optimization, and numerical analysis methodology and Linux and Windows development environments.</li><li>Familiar with Automatic Generation Control, Economic Dispatch, Load Flow, Contingency Analysis, State Estimation, and Power Systems Simulators etc. are desirable.</li><li>Hands-on experience with Generation Control (Automatic Generation Control and Economic Dispatch), Energy Management System (EMS) applications, Network analysis, Operator Training Simulator is desirable.</li><li>Solid theoretical background in Numerical Analysis Methods, Optimization Techniques, and Power System Modelling and Operation is a plus.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience working in an Agile development environment is desirable. Ability to interact effectively with team members, product management, and customers.</li><li>Knowledge in model prototyping using optimization toolkits or machine learning / AI packages or BI (Business Intelligence) tools will be a plus.
